Cameron Michelle Diaz was born August 30, 1972 and raised in Long Beach, California. Her role as Christina Pagniacci in Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday brought her another Blockbuster Entertainment Award, this time for Favorite Actress. In the movie, Cameron starred opposite big names as Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, Dennis Quaid and Ann-Margret.

Diaz took on the role of Natalie Cook in the feature film adaptation of ’70s TV Series Charlie’s Angels in 2000. She starred opposite Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Bill Murray, Matt LeBlanc and Luke Wilson. The movie was a world-wide hit and the ‘angels’ recieved a Blockbuster Entertainment Award and were selected Favorite Action Team, while Cameron won the Best Dance Sequence at the 2001 MTV Movie Awards. That same year she had small roles in My Father’s House and Minority Report, yet another movie starring Tom Cruise. In the latter, she did a cameo as a woman in a train.

With the year of 2005 came another critically acclaimed success for Cameron, In Her Shoes. The movie, directed by Curtis Hanson, starred Cameron, Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine. Cameron portrayed the somewhat egoistic partygirl, Maggie Feller, who constantly is ruining her sister Rose’s (Toni Collette) life. Maggie moves to their grandmother at a senior’s place in Miami after Rose walks in on her sleeping with Rose’s boyfriend. They live their seperate lifes until their grandmother get them to reunite. Cameron and Toni became close friends and still are.

During 2004 and 2005, Cameron explored some of the environmentally unique locations on the planet while discovering ways to help preserve them for the 10-episode series Trippin’ on MTV. She travelled with friends like Drew Barrymore, Jessica Alba, Rbecca Rominj Stamos and Kid Rock. When talking about the series Cameron says “I didn’t want a reality show about me being cute, I wanted to make the locations the star. Patagonia is one of the purest places on the planet, but now it’s starting to fall apart from the pollution”.

Eventhough Cameron’s one of the world’s best best paid actresses, the magazines tend to focus more on her private life than on her acting. When she started dating singer Justin Timberlake in 2003, neither Cameron or Justin wanted to talk about the relationship in public. This gave the press an opportunity to make up stories, “I’m thankful it’s not my real life – every three months I’m planning a wedding and calling it off”, she said about the frequent rumors. In December, 2006, more and more break-up rumors started to surround the couple and Cameron and Justin released an official statement saying that they were no longer a couple in early January, 2007. Although the papers claimed them to hating eachother and having a nasty break-up, the former lovers reunited at the world premiere of Shrek the Third (in which they both voice characters) showing that they were on good terms and still friends.

In December of 2006, The Holiday, featuring Cameron, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black, opened in cinemas to great numbers and Cameron and Jude Law promoted the movie everywhere. The Holiday centers around two women on opposite sides of the globe, Amanda Woods and Iris Simpkins, who find themselves in a similar predicament. Desperate for a change of scenery, the two women meet on the internet and decide swap houses for the Christmas holiday, discovering that a change of address really can change your life. On May 18 2007, the highly anticipated Shrek the Third premiered in US cinemas. The movie had the voices of Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Rupert Everett, Julie Andrews, Justin Timberlake, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Cheri Oteri and Amy Sedaris. Cameron travelled the world to promote the movie and visited places like Australia, Japan, Taiwan, England, France and Germany. Short after Shrek the Third hit theaters it was announced a 4th installment would be released in 2010. In the holiday season of 2007, Shrek the Halls premiered as a holiday special on the ABC network with hopes that it would be a given christmas-movie for families to watch for years ahead.

It was announced in May 2007 that Cameron would star in the romantic comedy What Happens in Vegas… opposite Ashton Kutcher. The movie is about two people who discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. The unhappy pair then tries to undermine each other and get their hands on the money – falling in love along the way. After keeping a low profile in about a month after the Shrek the Third promotion tour, Cameron started to shoot What Happens in Vegas… in late August the same year. Eventhough the movie is named after Las Vegas, most of the filming took place in New York City. She was very often photographed during the shooting, and even recieved flowers, cards and balloons by fans and photographers on her 35th birthday.

Shortly after the Vegas-filming was wrapped, she moved on to Boston to start the filming of The Box. The science-fiction/thriller movie had Cameron starring opposite James Marsden and Frank Langella. The movie focuses on an unhappy married couple who receive a small wooden box on their doorstep. At the push of a button, the box brings its bearer instant wealth but also instantly kills someone the bearer doesn’t know. Modi Wiczyk, the founder of MRC (the production company), said that “The storyline has all the commerciality of The Ring, but with Richard and Cameron, this film can rise to the level of Rosemary’s Baby and The Others“. After a stint on the 2009 Comic-Con, the movie didn’t premiere until November 2009, to solid but dissapointing numbers. The Box received mixed to poor reviews, with some saying that they thought Richard Kelly’s movies are too “out there” and that they didn’t get his movies. This didn’t stop Cameron from saying how much she liked the script and working with Kelly.

During the summer of 2007 it was announced that Cameron also was to star in the drama My Sister’s Keeper. The movie centers around a former defense attorney (played by Cameron Diaz) who returns to the courtroom to defend herself and her husband when they are sued by their 13-year-old daughter for emancipation. The girl was conceived as a genetic match with the hope she could prolong her cancer-ridden sister’s life. She starred as Sara Fitzgerald opposite Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, Sofia Vassilieva, Jason Patric and Joan Cusack. Cameron started filming the movie in March 2008 but was forced to take a break mid-filming as she learned that her father had passed away. Emilio Diaz died of pneumonia and left Cameron and her mother & sister devastated. Cameron, showing how strong of a person she really is, continued filming after about three weeks. Eventhough she was distracted by her sudden loss of a family member Cameron did a fantastic job in the movie, showcasing her true acting talent in one of her best roles to date.

After staying out of the spotlight and not filming any new movies for about one and a half year, Cameron Diaz was ready for Hollywood once again. In August 2010 she started working on The Green Hornet, directed by Michel Gondry. The movie centers around the debonair newspaper publisher Britt Reid and his fight against crime as a masked superhero known as “The Green Hornet”. She plays the secretary to Britt Reid – Lenore Case – and stars opposite Seth Rogen as the titular role. The Green Hornet was released in January 14, 2011, later than first planned due to the director’s wish to convert it to 3-D.

Then, in September, she went to Boston, MA to shoot another movie; Knight and Day. This action-packed movie stars Cameron and Tom Cruise and is centered on “a fugitive couple on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one – even themselves – are what they seem.” The pair was shooting the movie in USA, Spain, Jamaica and Austria. It was released June 25, 2010 to mixed reviews but with a conscensus saying that it’s an entertaining action summer movie. Cameron and Tom went all over the world promoting the movie as well as appearing on practically all the talk shows you can imagine. They participated in a race on the British car-show Top Gear and landed on the top two spots on the fastest list (Cami lost by not even a second)!

Next up for Cameron is Bad Teacher, which follows Elizabeth (Cameron’s character) who’s foul-mouthed, ruthless, and inappropriate. She drinks, she gets high, and she can’t wait to marry her meal ticket and get out of her bogus day job. When she’s dumped by her fiancé, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute – competing for his affections with an overly energetic colleague, Amy. When Elizabeth also finds herself fighting off the advances of a sarcastic, irreverent gym teacher, the consequences of her wild and outrageous schemes give her students, her coworkers, and even herself an education like no other. The movie has a stellar cast, including Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Lucy Punch, Phyllis Smith and John Michael Higgins to name a few. It started filming in March, 2010. Bad Teacher will be released on June 24 in the US and is one of the summer’s most anticipated comedies. So far both Cameron and the movie have been given great reviews saying it’s a “return to great comedy form” for Ms Diaz.

The next movie on the horizont for Cameron is Gambit, which has Colin Firth as British art curator Harry Deane, who devises a finely-crafted scheme to con England’s richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar, (Rickman) into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Cameron’s character) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII. Another upcoming movie is What to Expect When You’re Expecting co-starring Matthew Morrison (more are expected to be announced shortly). The film is based on the popular series of advice books for expecting couples that details all the ups and downs that come along with having a baby. Cami would star as the host of a fitness show who becomes pregnant and it throws her well-regimented routine into a tailspin.

Cameron Diaz is currently seeing baseball player Alex Rodriguez. After the media had speculated about the relationship for almost a year, Cameron finally admitted they were a couple, saying “it’s awesome.”

Who knows what more the future has in store for Cameron Diaz, and to quote herself; “I don’t know what I’m doing half the time, but I enjoy doing it”, I’m sure she has a bright life in front of her.
